At St Mary’s we specialise in providing support for those living with dementia. If you or your loved one are dealing with the onset of dementia you can benefit from the expertise in our specialist dementia wing which caters for these very specific needs.
The unit is located on the ground floor offering a safe environment for our residents with free access to the garden. We create a familiar environment for you within the wing, incorporating your own furniture, pictures and other personal effects that will facilitate the transition from your home to St Mary’s whilst helping to trigger memories and preserve your mental and emotional well being.
The staff who work on our dementia unit have undergone rigorous training and are experienced in the approach and care of those living with dementia, and will work with you and your family to promote your independence whilst providing support as necessary.
